Gunja (Abrus precatorius Linn.), known as Indian liquorice,
is reputed as one of the world's most deadly but most beautiful seed belonging
to the family Fabaceae, characterised under the Upavisha (semi-poisonous drugs)
and used extensively in various Ayurvedic formulations with great therapeutic
significance.
